Folk University is an experiment, a question, a verb. At it’s heart is the hope that at a time when our ideas and differences are being used to divide us from each other, that perhaps we can engage in the act of learning, inspiring, and sharing in a way that brings us closer together. Can we become more independent and interdependent? Can we slow down learning? Can we have fun while doing it? Can we fail and still succeed and succeed and let ourselves continue to fail? We have an island of explorers, gardeners, artists, writers, dancers, farmers, lumberjacks, swimmers, fisher-people, craftspeople, scientists, citizens, professors, home-makers and home-builders. Let’s share what we know. And have fun doing it!
